The Global Health Conference is an annual event within the College of Medicine that has been running since 2011. The conference exists to further educate participants on current global heath needs, to foster networking and collaboration with global health minded doctors, students, community members, and other allied health professionals, to share new and exciting research, and to promote a culture of Global Health within the College of Medicine, and beyond. The conference consists of a one day program with high caliber Keynote speakers, breakout sessions with local experts under the given topic, workshops, research presentations, and panel discussions.
The Global Health Conference planning committee is chaired by two second year medical students (Global Health Liaison Sr. and the Local Exchange Officer) with support from faculty within the Division of Social Accountability in the College of Medicine. External collaborators will vary from year to year (depending on the topic and interest of other colleges). The conference is open to everyone (students, physicians, community members, etc) for a small registration fee and takes place usually in late September or early October.
