As a physician-in-training, you know that your own health is subject to factors and forces similar to those that impact your patients, and that you are not immune to stressors on your mental and physical health. Therefore, the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) and the Fédération Médicale Étudiante du Québec (FMEQ) are collecting new information on the health and behaviors of medical students studying at institutions across Canada, for the purpose of developing and advocating for programs to improve your health.

Please complete the survey by December 28th!

To show our appreciation for your participation, all participants will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of 2 iPads. Furthermore, the school with the highest response rate per capita will be awarded a total of $1000 per medical class to be contributed to each class’ graduation fund.

Lastly, $2000 has been set aside for charitable contribution to organizations that work to advance mental health in Canada, and we would like your input on which organizations receive these funds. By participating in this survey, you will be able to vote on which organization to donate to, and funds will be distributed according to the proportion of votes.

If you have questions about the survey, please contact the co-principal investigator, Brandon Maser, M.D. Candidate, Queen’s University (, or the UBC Research Subject Information Line at 604-822-8598, or if long distance e-mail or call toll free 1-877-822-8598.

In advance, thank you for your consideration of this very important project. On behalf of the CFMS and FMEQ and the medical students of Canada who will benefit from your participation in this survey, thank you.
